Jug

British

Not on view

This bulbous jug is fitted with an applied strap handle that seamlessly attaches to the flared mouth rising from the tapered neck. The lip is slightly raised and grooved and is marked with a slightly pinched spout. The pitting of the lower part of the vessel has been attributed to either frost action or salt activity.
