Plate 3, View of the Forum of Vespasian (or the Temple of Peace) in the Roman Forum (Campo Vaccino). In the foreground, groups of figures and livestock animals are scattered among the ruins, while the Colosseum (identified in the inscription) is visible in the background at right. Below this plate is a smaller image, titled "Fragmens Antiques," which shows a group of architectural and sculptural fragments. These two images appear facing page 4, which starts the portion of text describing the Temple of Peace (continued on page 5).
