Plate 52, Two robed female figures dancing and holding hands at center, after a wall painting painting. While the majority of the images in the volume relate to Rome, this plate, as well as plates 53 and 54, reproduce paintings from Pompeii (near Herculaneum). Below this plate is an unnumbered image titled "D'après l'Antique" with a female figure seated on a rock. These two images appear facing page 86, which includes the section of text discussing the paintings from Herculaneum and Pompeii and describing the dancers.
