Mail (Estimated Time of Death)

Laura Larson American

Not on view

For her series My Dark Places, Larson photographed miniature models of crime scenes made in the 1940s and now housed in the office of the Maryland Medical Examiner. Originally a student of film, Larson is expert at teasing out suggestions of narrative from empty interiors, but it is the uncanny effects brought about by the camera situated in a claustrophobic tiny space and her deft framing that make this such a suspenseful work.
