Not on view
Smith's engraving of the Phoencian princess Europa carried off by Jupiter, transformed into a white bull, is based on a painting Cosway exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1775. Europa's distress is indicated by her streaming hair, and appealing gesture to her companions left on shore, while the cupid riding a dolphin indicate Jupiter's romantic intentions.
