This image of a woman in seventeenth-century costume embracing a child comes from a set of six stipple engravings after drawings by Cosway. Published by Smith in 1785, the themes relate to the training of youth--with the others titled "Instruction," "Improvement," "Devotion," "Study," and "Education."
