Drawing with a design for a corset ornament, part of an album of drawings in pen and ink of designs for jewelry in the style of the French School of the 19th century, designed for the French jewelry house Mellerio-Borgnis. The design consists of a large rosette made of a central round pearl, surrounded by small loops of gold ribbons, sorrounded by larger loops of gold ribbon, each formed around a smaller round pearl, flanked to the sides by two scrolling, stylized leaves, each formed around a large round pearl, from which hang strips of round and teardrop shaped pearls of different sizes. From the center of the rosette hand two short ribbon tails, with a large, round pearl between them. Under it is a large, stylized acanthus leaf scroll, from which hands a smaller rosette, similar to the first, the first layer of ribbon loops having been replaced by small, stylized leaves. This rosette is also flanked by leaf scrolls with hanging pearls, and from it hangs a stylized acanthus scrolling leaf motif. From it hangs an even smaller rosette, consisting only of a central round pearls and petals made of gold ribbon loops forming around smaller round pearls, with a large round pearl hanging underneath it, holding three, large, inverted teardrop pearls.
