Thirteenth plate of portfolio with a collection of twenty pochoir pattern plates, titled "Insectes: vingt planches en phototypie coloriées au patron donnant quatre-vingts insectes et seize compositions décoratives" (Insects: twenty plates with colored phototypes with patterns with eighty insects and sixteen decorative compositions), created by Émile-Allain Séguy and published in Paris by Duchartre & Van Buggenhoudt in 1929. The plate features five naturalistic illustrations of jewel beetles from Indo-China and Madagascar, and a lined beetle from Mexico, executed with shades of brown, blue, and green, black, white, and cream. The depictions of insects in the illustration are remarkably detailed, revealing Séguy's unique interest in their scientific study as a source of inspiration for artistic creation. This illustration was likely meant to inspire designs for textiles and wallpapers.
