Linga Temple Compound

This drawing shows all the key elements of a temple dedicated to Shiva. Centrally placed is a linga; below is Shiva's principal devotee, Nandi; and protecting the entrance to the compound is a small shrine dedicated to Ganesha. Another shrine is dedicated to Hanuman; Rama and Lakshmana, identified by inscriptions, are represented submitting to the authority of Shiva.
