Not on view

Etching, part of a series of five oval prints with depictions of the five senses, represented by standing women with attributes, surrounded by landscapes. In the print, Smell (olfactus) is represented by a woman, standing with her head turning to the left. She carries a basket filled with flowers, her attributes, on her right arm, and holds one flower under her nose with the right hand. This depiction of Smell is closely related to one by Georg Pencz, although he illustrates the bundle of flowers inside a cornucopia.
