This engraving represents a chief of centurions in Spanish dress, a light mounted soldier (called 'ferentarij') in Spanish dress, a Spanish lancer, and a Spanish escort of the lancers. The chief centurion wears a jerkin with stripes of stylized leaves with high ruff collar over a doublet with long puff sleeves with ruffled cuffs, and short paneled hose, stockings, and flat shoes. He wears a puffy hat with large feathers over his short hair, and long, thin musrache. He carries a sword hangong on his left hip from a belt, and holds a spear on his right hand.

The ferentarij wears a striped jerkin and matching paned hose, doublet with long puff sleeves and ruffled cuffs, stockings with ribbons around the knees, and flat shoes. He wears a high ruff, and a striped band with fringed edges is tied diagonally across his chest. He has a short beard and mustache, and wears a long puffy hat with feathers. He carries a sword on his left hip, hanging form a belt, and a rifle on his right shoulder; he holds a lance on his right hand.

The lancer wears an armory with high collar with ruff and strips of scrolling motifs, gloves, wide hose, stockings and flat shoes. A striped band with fringed edges is tied diagonally across his chest. On his head he wears a helmet with scrolling motifs matching his armor, and short beard and mustache. He carries a sword on his left hip, hanging from a belt, and holds a rod on her left hand.

On the right, the escort of the lancers wears a sleeveless overcoat with black borders, over a long dress with long puff sleeves, trimmed with ribbons and with ruffled cuffs, and a short-brimmed hat with a band of roundels and a bundle of feathers over a headscarf wrapped around her hair and neck. She carries a small dog on her right hand.
