A new mother sits in a chair at right, near a cradle. Her baby is held by a nurse and passed to a woman visitor seated at left to kiss. Further to the left, an elderly woman holds a muff, and a younger woman holds a cup of tea. A reverse copy of a Rowlandson print of 1808.
