Suit
Designer Gilbert Adrian American
Not on view
In an act of postwar revelry, Adrian produced extravagant suits featuring multiple collars, revers, and pockets. One jacket possesses a generous collar and features extra revers with buttons that migrate to the sleeve in a faintly surrealistic transposition. The boxy coat reveals a multitude of pockets, both functional and decorative, angled and disposed with Adrian's signature idiosyncratic whimsy.
