Pedestal (one of a pair)

French

Not on view

This pair of pedestals may come from a series of eight that was originally executed for the Throne Room of Carlton House. If this is the case, they have lost the garland suspended between the caryatid figures. Of the four original pair made for Carlton House only one other pair is known now in the Collection of Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.
