Rue de Marzelles, Bizy
Frank Milton Armington Canadian
Not on view
Born in Toronto, Frank Armington moved to Paris in 1905 to study at the Académie Julian, accompanied by his wife and artistic partner Caroline. They both learned to etch in 1908, with Frank often adding dramatic touches of drypoint to his compositions. Seeking material, the couple traveled throughout Europe, to North Africa and North America. This view responds to a 1923 vist to Bizy, a village in Normandy, and it demonstrates Frank's interest in Van Gogh.
