This portrait shows the actor and theater manager David Garrick standing half-length in three-quarter profile to the right, his eyes turned towards the viewer. He raises his right hand, wears a plain coat over a white shirt, and is shown against a plain background and within a simulated rectangular frame. In this state, the mezzotint was retouched with additional shadows and hinges on the frame.
