Designs for a Dagger Pommel (left) and two for the Sheath of a Sword (middle and right)

Cornelis Bos Netherlandish

Not on view

Print with three designs for the decoration of weapons with grotesque motifs. This sheet contains designs for a dagger pommel and for the sheath of a sword. Cornelis Bos may have been inspired to create these designs through a two-year stay in Nuremberg between 1546 and 1548, where he may have encountered the prints of Augustin Hirschvogel.
