The Sheepfold and Barn and the Large Conservatory, now erecting in Central Park (probably for Valentine's Manual)

Probably published by Valentine's Manual American

Not on view

These prints likely were made for publicatoin in "Valentine's Manual" and show buildings then under construction in Central Park. The Sheepfold (later the Tavern on the Green) sits next to the Sheep Meadow near 66th Street. The Conservatory was intended to house tropical plants at a site near Fifth Avenue and 74th Street. Today its location is echoed by the Conservatory Water, more commonly known as the Boat Pond.
