Tunic

Not on view
Within the tomb of Tutankhamun were many boxes of folded clothing. Included were many simple items but also more elborate garments, such as the tunic with separate sleeves documented here. While it bears the king's name, it was not made with ancient Egyptian techniques. It may have been produced in Syria as a diplomatic gift to the king.
