The Arts (Las Artes): a printing press, a sculptor, a hand holding brushes

Different arts are celebrated through this print. In the foreground, a hand adds the final touches to a portrait carved on linoleum. At right, a man operates a printing press. On the other side, a hand clutches paint brushes, and at the top, a sculptor creates the figure of a man. González Iñiguez was a painter, sculptor, draftsman, and printmaker who, in 1956, joined the Taller de Gráfica Popular in Mexico City. His dedication to printmaking is probably the reason why this practice dominates the image.
