Box with two sliding lids, operating in opposing directions. The front cover lid of the top book slides down to reveal a mirror, with the back lid opening upward to an empty compartment. Both covers are decorated with fine chip-carved designs, each with different corner and central roundel motifs.. -- description by Mindell Dubansky in consultation with Lynn Heckman.
