A Celebration—The Roof Garden Commission: Lauren Halsey

Explore Egyptian symbolism, utopian architecture, and creative expression through interactive, multisensory experiences to celebrate The Roof Garden Commission: Lauren Halsey, including art making and gallery chats. 

Start the celebration with performances inspired by the Roof Garden Commission by Jerron Herman: LAX on July 21 and Moten/López/Cleaver on July 22.

Free with Museum admission; admission is free for children under 12 with an adult. Note: Space is limited; first come, first served. 

Stop by the welcome table in the Great Hall to learn more about the day’s events. 

Masks are strongly recommended. See our visitor guidelines.

Creative Writing Workshop

Craft your own visual poem inspired by the symbols and stories found in Lauren Halsey’s installation.

Scent Lab 
Gallery 131, The Temple of Dendur, Floor 1
Experience scents found in Egypt, including notes of lotus and sandalwood, with fragrance experts from Pura and Givaudan.

Architectural Art Making

Showcase your creative flair and create an architectural design with mixed-media collage and materials inspired by the installation’s visual language.
