The Met and The Beautiful Project invite Black girls and young women ages 12 and over to a creative workshop using storytelling and image making as tools of wellness to affirm, empower, and disrupt harmful misrepresentations of Black girls and women. The workshop corresponds with the opening of Pen, Lens & Soul: The Story of The Beautiful Project, an exhibition that presents over a decade of work by image makers who create spaces for Black girls and women to express their power and beauty. The Beautiful Project is a collective of image makers who use photography, writing, and care to cultivate voice and power among Black girls and women. Note: This event is free; advance registration is required.
