Teen Event—Virtual Teens Take The Met! (Ages 13–18)

The Basics

All you need to participate is a device (computer, phone, or tablet) with an internet connection to access Instagram, Zoom, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms. Activities are posted on the @metteens Instagram account starting at 3 pm. To join us, start off on @metteens or follow the links below to go directly to an organization's account.

Suggested materials for activities throughout the day: 
  • Paper (white, colored, or notebook paper)
  • Writing and drawing tools (pencils, pens, markers, gel pens)
  • Collage materials (magazines, newspapers, paper with patterns)
  • Recycled cereal box or other cardboard box
  • Paint and brushes
  • Glue and/or tape
  • Scissors

Don't have all these materials? Don't worry! Substitute with whatever you have at home.

  • You are between the ages of 13 and 19 and also pursuing some form of a high school diploma (please be prepared to show a school ID if asked)
  • You will use your first name only and not publish your email address
  • You will use one mic to help eliminate background noise and will mute yourself when not speaking
  • You will be courageous; if possible, show your face via video. Use the chat box to ask questions or to engage with others
  • You will respect the group: listen without judgment, be open-minded, and use positive language
  • You (and we) will have some fun!

Please note that by your presence in the Virtual Teens Take The Met! Zoom sessions, you consent to the use of your photograph, likeness, or voice as part of promotional materials for the Museum. The Met also reserves the right to remove someone from Zoom sessions for not abiding by the above agreements and/or engaging in inappropriate behavior.
