Costumes Parisiens: Robe de taffetas à fleurs et ottoman de soie; Chapeau de tulle
Plate with an illustration of a women's "Parisian Costume", part of the 38th issue of the "Journal des dames et des modes", published on June 10, 1913. The illustration shows a woman wearing a gray outfit consisting of matching jacket and narrow "Hobble" skirt, made up of gray taffeta with flowers executed in a darker shade of gray, and a long, white shirt with ruffles on the neckline, horizontal, gray stripes, and a lower border made up of the same fabric as the jacket and skirt. The jacket is fastened with a bundle of red roses and green leaves. The woman wears a gray tulle hat fastened with a thin, black ribbon tied around her head to form a bow on her forehead, and decorated with two long, black feathers. She holds a hexagonal "Ottoman" bag on her hand, made up of the same fabric as her dress, and with four hanging stones, and wears black high heels on her feet. Her face is heavily made up, with light blue eyeshadows, pink blush on her cheeks, and lively pink lipstick. She stands on a light-gray, glassy floor, and looks to a large bird with green and blue feathers that is perched on a wooden rack standing to her right.
