Costumes Parisiens 146: Manteau de velours broché; Cheveux poudrés d’or
Illustration with a design for a brocaded velvet coat, part of the 64th issue of the "Journal des dames et des modes", published in Paris on March 1, 1914. The illustration features a woman wearing a loose, ankle-length, black velvet coat embroidered with scrolling garlands of golden flowers and leaves, and with brocaded floral patterns on the cuffs and neck, and a garland of thin, short silver tassels on the border. Her hair is colored with gold powder and held up by a strip of small, bright-pink stones, featuring a larger stone flaked by a thin, long feather. Her neck features a necklace made with similar bright-pink stones, as does her ring finger. She stands on a terrache with black-and-white tiled floors, a light gray balustrade with vases holding light green bushes far behind her, next to a thin, long, vertical rose vine featuring small, green leaves and pink roses and rose buds.
