Bowl with floral and abstract motifs and inscription
Striking cobalt-blue motifs are this bowl’s main decorative feature. Carved into the glaze after firing, the distinctive Hangeul (Korean alphabet) inscription (뎡 미 가 례 시 순 화 궁 요 간 이 듕 쇼 삼 듁) provides important information, stating that this example was one of thirty bowls used at Sunhwa-gung Palace for the 1847 royal wedding of King Heonjong (reigned 1834–49) to his formally selected concubine.
