Bronze mirror with wooden backing, set in a silver-gilt frame

The silver-gilt openwork band that enframes the mirror itself is decorated with herons and other birds among palmettes, flowers, and leaves. The wooden back originally may have been covered with fabric that would have set off the open frame most effectively.
