Following Delacroix’s death, the lithographer Alfred Robaut created a set of prints meticulously reproducing many of the drawings in the artist’s studio sale, resulting in two volumes published as "Eugène Delacroix: Fac-simile de dessins et croquis originaux." These lithographs are instructive for understanding how Delacroix’s drawings became known to a wider public after his passing. Plate 43 reproduces a drawing now in the collection of The Met (2013.1135.3) that was owned at the time by the artist Paul Huet.
