水差し

この水差しは、16世紀中頃にフランスで作られた最も大きい低火度焼成の白色陶器の逸品のひとつです。サン・ポルシェール陶器として知られ、建築部分として作られることの多かったこれらの精巧な作品は、クリーム色の陶器の素地に有色の粘土が埋め込まれた、複雑な織り交ざった模様を特徴としています。フランス西部のサン・ポルシェールで製造されていたと考えられていますが、洗練された技法と革新的なデザインから、パリで作られた可能性も考えられます。
