コロンビア北部のシエラネバダ・デ・サンタマルタのタイロナ族は、アメリカ大陸で最も複雑で優れた鋳金作品を製作しました。ボリュームと立体感を強調したこのペンダントは、貴族または首長と思われる幅広い肩をした男性をモチーフとしており、凝った渦巻きと編んだ部分が側面部に付いている巨大な被り物をしています。帽子には2羽の大きなくちばしの鳥が付いています。細心の注意を払って正確に作られた鼻飾り、耳飾り、そして下唇のラブレットは、タイロナ族の墓から出土した実物に匹敵するものです。
