メーダ・プリマヴェージ (1903–2000年)
この作品は、ウィーン工房の融資者だった企業家オットー・プリマヴェージの依頼により、1912年に制作された娘のメーダの肖像画です。クリムトはウィーンのアトリエでメーダをモデルにこの作品を描きましたが、1914年には同じアトリエでメーダの母親で女優のユージェニア・プリマヴェージ(旧姓バットチェック)の肖像画を描いています。クリムトは、数多くの鉛筆画による習作でさまざまなポーズを試した後、この完成品にたどり着きました。正面を向いて真っ直ぐ立つメーダの姿に、9歳の少女のはつらつさが表れています。
