アメリカン・ウィングの歴史的な部屋に最後に加えられたこの部屋は、アメリカの最も著名な建築家、フランク・ロイド・ライトの考案によるものです。当初ミネソタ州ミネアポリス近郊のフランシス W. リトル夫妻邸のために、独立した壮大な応接室として建てられました。傾斜の緩い屋根と深い庇、ペンキの塗られていないホワイト・オークのトリム、並んだ透明な鉛枠ガラスのあるこの部屋は、ライト独特のプレイリー様式住宅の代表的作品です。家具もライトが考案し、彼が意図した通りに配置されています。明るい色の家具はこの部屋のために制作され、濃く染色された家具は1903年にイリノイ州ペオリアの前のリトル邸のためにライトがデザインしたものです。
