브라이언트 항아리
시인이자 신문 편집가였던 윌리엄 쿨렌 브라이언트의 80세 생일에 대해 경의를 표하기 위해 그의 친구 몇 명은 “[그의] 문학 및 민간커리어의 교훈을 구현”할 “원래 디자인 및 선별된 세공의 기념적인 항아리”를 의뢰하였습니다. 르네상스 부흥의 감성과 미학 운동을 결합시킨 이 디자인은 브라이언트의 생애와 작품을 암시하는 상징적 영상과 주제로 장식된 그리스 항아리 형체로 구성되어 있습니다. 뉴욕시에 있는 티파니사에 의해 제작되어 1876년도에 완성된 이 항아리는 메트로폴리탄 박물관에 그다음 해에 기증되었는데 박물관 컬렉션에 도입된 미국의 첫번째 은작품입니다.
