수사슴 형상의 잔

한쪽 끝이 동물 상반신 모양을 한 이 술잔은 근동 고대 용기의 특징적 형태입니다. 뿔이 완전히 자란 수사슴은 히타이트 미술 고유의 자연주의풍으로 아름답게 묘사되어 있습니다. 용기 몸체의 형상은 최소 12장의 은판을 타출하여 만들었습니다. 잔의 테두리에는 제례 또는 종교 의식에 참여 중인 인물군이 타출기법으로 묘사되어 있는데, 이는 아마도 수렵의 성공을 축하하는 장면 같습니다. 히타이트 제국의 제례용 유물 소장품에는 이러한 동물 문양 잔이 포함되어 있습니다.
