«Our Russian winter adventure began in Saint Petersburg in late December—one of the most magical and festive times of the year, and one the Russians call the "White Days."»

After a traditional Russian lunch, we took full advantage of the freshly fallen snow and enjoyed a horse-drawn troika ride through the beautiful grounds of Pavlovsk Palace, a former imperial estate just outside the city. There's nothing like celebrating the holiday season in a one-horse (or three!) open sleigh—truly our Doctor Zhivago moment!
