Sew your own journey into the journeys of the world with Our Stories of Migration: World Map Project. Add your personal migration story to Natalia Nakazawa's collaborative tapestry while exploring important textiles at the Museum. Then, learn about the life of a refugee living in a camp through virtual reality. Your journey will be guided by field experts from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Or, see someone cook up a new idea. Join Chef Brian Tatsukawa as he infuses traditional Japanese recipes with ingredients from his wife's Native American heritage.

Floor 2: Islamic Art and Asian Art Galleries
Explore how objects and ideas traveled along the Silk Road at three interactive stations. The Silk Road was a network of routes that was regularly used by traders for over 1500 years. The ancient network of roads stretched from China, across Asia and the Middle East, to the Mediterranean Sea. Learn how paper traveled along the Silk Road and design a travel journal inspired by Islamic manuscripts. In the Asian Art galleries, discover the origins of vibrant pigments. And design a pouch to carry with you on your journey.
