Jeffrey M. Peek Elected a Trustee at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

Jeffrey M. Peek has been elected to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, it was announced today by James R. Houghton, the Museum's Chairman. Mr. Peek's election took place at the November 13 meeting of the Board.

Jeffrey Peek is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CIT Group Inc., a global finance company headquartered in New York City. Mr. Peek joined CIT in 2003. He had been Vice Chairman of Credit Suisse First Boston LLC ("CSFB") and Executive Vice President of Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. and President of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.

"It gives me great pleasure to welcome Jeff Peek to the Museum's Board," commented James R. Houghton. "For more than a decade, he has generously shared his experience and insights at the Met, as an active member of our Business Committee and a leader in our corporate fundraising activities. In recognition of these efforts, we honored him at the Museum's annual Business Committee benefit last year. And with his election as Trustee, we look forward to his continued involvement here."

A graduate of Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Mr. Peek also holds a master's degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School.

In addition to the Metropolitan, Mr. Peek serves as Treasurer of the New York City Ballet and Chairman of the Advisory Council for the Bendheim Center for Finance at Princeton University.
