Alexander Wang Is Next Guest for
The Atelier with Alina Cho

Fashion designer Alexander Wang will be the next guest for The Atelier with Alina Cho on Thursday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m. at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Wang is the fifth guest to join journalist Cho on the stage of the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium. In a rare interview with the designer, Cho will discuss a variety of topics, including Wang’s 10 years in the business he started at age 20, his views on the changing fashion landscape, and his creative process.

Now in its second season, The Atelier has previously presented intimate conversations about the fashion industry and the arts, delving into industry and personal topics with visionary thinkers Alber Elbaz, Diane von Furstenberg, Donatella Versace, and Anna Wintour.

Alexander Wang launched his own label in 2005, and it evolved into a full women’s ready-to-wear line by 2007; his collection was shown for the first time on the runway in fall 2007. He then went on to design ready-to-wear for men, footwear, and handbags, and in 2014 Wang was the first American to be invited by H&M to serve as guest designer on a collaboration. He received top honors as recipient of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, was acknowledged by the CFDA as Best Accessory Designer in 2011, and in 2013 was honored with the Fashion Star award by the Fashion Group International. Today, the collection is available at 26 Alexander Wang boutiques and 700 leading retailers worldwide.

Alina Cho is currently Editor-at-Large at Ballantine Bantam Dell, responsible for acquiring and co-editing books in the fashion and lifestyle categories. Cho was previously National Correspondent at CNN and host of Fashion: Backstage Pass.
