Washi (和紙, literally "japanese paper") refers to paper manufactured using traditional vat methods, specifically that which is made from mitsumata, gampi, or kozo fibers with or without a neri additive. Washi is manufactured in two methods, tame-zuki and nagashi-zuki, similar to that of traditional Western linen rag paper.
