Bound in boards covered with brown moiréd cloth and black leather - black leather corners and spine; title and volume gold-stamped and framed on spine. Page edges are also moiréd. Trollope wrote: Framley Parsonage, pp. 1-25, 150-74, 296-321, 449-75, 691-715; Thackeray wrote: Lovel the Widower, and Roundabout Papers, pp.44-60, 124-8, 233-47, 330-45, 380-84, 583-97, 652-68, 755ff.
