这件盒子的盒盖上装饰着亚瑟王和其他宫廷传说中的故事场景,描绘出骑士以比武大赛和投掷玫瑰攻下比喻式的“爱的城堡”。前饰板再现了皮拉摩斯和提斯柏(右边)悲剧故事中的两个辛酸场景,另有一个场景是亚里士多德在教导亚历山大大帝,还有两个场景描画出菲莉丝骑在亚里士多德背上(左边)。两侧描绘了特里斯坦与伊索尔德的故事;猎人杀死独角兽;骑士救下一位女士;加拉哈德接受进入城堡的钥匙。饰板背面的场景中有兰斯洛特和高文,以及少女欢迎她们的拯救者。
