Stamps by Uncle Sam. Vol. 1

1900?
Not on view
Realistic book with faux inscribed raised bands and corners, stippled to resemble leather; four bands on the spine with the "Vol. I". Title and author on front cover with a four-leaf clover green enameled motif in the center. The design continues onto the back cover. The stamp box pivots out and a bookmark at the bottom of the box serves as a handle to assist in opening. A ring at the top/spine keeps both parts of the box together and is large enough to be able to be attached to a chain. -- description by Mindell Dubansky in consultation with Lynn Heckman
