Dan Feeley Named Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of The Metropolitan Museum of Art

(New York, September 25, 2025)—The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced today that Dan Feeley has been named Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Feeley joined The Met in 2021 as Chief Budget and Planning Officer, helping guide the Museum’s post-COVID recovery strategy and plans to fund the Museum’s long-term capital and infrastructure projects. He assumes the role on September 25 and will continue to report to The Met’s Chief Operating Officer, Jameson Kelleher, who will continue to oversee the operations of the Museum, including Finance.

“Dan Feeley is a respected leader and wonderful colleague, and we are thrilled to appoint him to the role of Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer,” said Max Hollein, The Met’s Marina Kellen French Director and Chief Executive Officer. “His financial acumen and proven dedication to not only The Met’s mission but also the Museum’s staff, supporters, and audiences gives us full confidence in his ability to take on this critical work at a transformative time for the Museum.”

As Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Feeley will lead the Finance Department and be responsible for building The Met’s long-term financial strategy and providing strategic direction to Museum leadership to ensure sustainable financial health. Overseeing the annual operating budget of approximately $350 million, he will also support prioritization of resources across the Museum’s more than 50 departments.

“I am so pleased that Dan will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer,” added Jameson Kelleher, The Met’s Chief Operating Officer. “His deep expertise in managing finances for non-profits has been an invaluable asset to The Met, and I look forward to continuing our collaboration with Dan and his team to further strengthen the Museum’s financial health and realize operations for this storied institution.”

“I am thrilled to continue my career at The Met and help ensure that the Museum and its mission can continue to inspire audiences for years to come. I am thankful to my colleagues in the Finance Department and beyond for their continued collaboration in this endeavor,” said Feeley.

Before joining The Met, Feeley worked for over 10 years in the Office of Budget and Financial Planning at New York University, where he managed the school’s annual operating budget. He holds an MBA in Corporate Finance, Accounting, Leadership, and Change Management from New York University Stern School of Business and a BA in Political Science from NYU’s College of Arts and Science.
