The Hours of Jeanne d'Évreux begins with a calendar naming the fixed holidays to be celebrated through the course of the year. Each opening folio presents a new month with illustrations at the bottom of the page depicting an activity commonly associated with the season. The month of November shows a man thrashing acorns from a tree to feed boars gathered there.
