Translucent deep blue-green.

Broad, everted, tubular rim, made by folding out, down, round, and in, extending back to top of body, with beveled upper surface; globular body; deep concave bottom.

Intact; few bubbles; dulling, iridescent weathering, and patches of limy encrustation on exterior, slight pitting and iridescent weathering on upper part of interior.

Recorded as found in 1851, complete with a lead cover inscribed in cursive Latin in four lines:

IVLIAE MELLI-

DIS ET NAIDIS

MATRIS EIVS

OSS[a] COMMIXTA

"The mingled bones of Julia Mellis and Nais, her mother." The lead cover is now lost.
