Title page, pp. (1)-102, 6 plates, one folding, and four vignettes. Binding of decorated paper boards and a tan leather spine. The text is composed of 21 letters, the first dated November, 8, 1816 from New York City, the last August 10,1817 from Albany. Those between were written from Philadelphia, St. Thomas, Santo Domingo, Kingston, New Orleans, the steamboat Vesuvius on the Mississippi, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo.
