Artist's inscription:
Jingxi laoren (Huang Gongwang) is a consummate master at representing faint spring color. My painting has more the atmosphere of autumn than spring. I have tried to borrow Jingxi's brush to correct it, but the ink bowl has not been cleaned. I am afraid that my predecessor is not going to allow me [to borrow his brush].
