Much of Manisan lusterware was influenced by Islamic designs introduced from Andalucía by immigrant Mudéjar or converted Muslim craftsmen. This piece features a large, S-shaped bird, in copper luster, which appears to take flight against a background of sketchily drawn bushes, flowers, circles and dots.
