Plate 4 of a series of designs for mantelpieces. This plate shows two variants of a fireplace design. The left side is fairly bare with only the mascaron atop the mirror and the representation of trophies in the frieze. On the right side, the trophies remain but are separated by consoles adorned with acanthus leaves. The frame of the mirror is decorated, the spandrel over it is diapered, and a garland and vegetal scrolls ornament it.
